Following the KOSRA AGM on 18th December, 2020 the KSDNA met with ESTUARY CARE and KOSRA to clarify their concerns and consider any other ideas they had. KSDNA relayed all these matters to the Consultants as they are the experts and neither we nor Estuary Care have the expertise to put forward any proposal. The Consultants have communicated with all parties involved and have responded to everyone’s concerns. The further “ideas” put forward by Estuary Care failed to provide any solution and would have been unable to prevent any further damage to Westbourne Road, the houses and to prevent the destruction of vegetation in Dry Bones valley. A thorough understanding of the Sand Dune is required and the Consultants are available to explain this fully to Estuary Care and the impact of all matters affecting this Dune.
This is a Ndlambe Municipal problem and they have carried out their approach to this and to their due diligence in a completely professional manner and they must be given credit for this.
The Consultants have completed a Construction Plan for the Municipality, which needs final approval from DEDEAT, and it is hoped that they will be able to submit this to DEDEAT shortly. This is now in the hands of the Municipality.
We are sure you will be very pleased to read the Consultants Summary of the Proposal which Madam Mayor and the Municipal Manager asked them to present to the Council Exco on 9th September, 2020.
We believe all outcomes of the completion of this project will be positive and will meet all the short term and long term objectives for Kenton communities. We cannot see any negatives. The formation of the KSDNA was established to achieve this objective.
KSDNA are very pleased to have been of help to all Communities should this project be authorised.
